Historical Notes
Krause Springs has welcomed swimmers since Elton Krause opened the privately owned park more than half a century ago. Texas Highways highlights the knotted rope reached from a tilted rock slab that drops swimmers beneath a fern-covered cliff. Thirty-two springs feed pools and a man-made swimming area on Little Cypress Creek west of Austin. Overnight camping is available. Day-use fees apply; cash preferred.
