Ma Barker Rochester-Chatfield Cache

Lost Treasure MN • Olmsted County County
Description
Olmsted County legend that Ma Barker buried $100,000 between Rochester and Chatfield — a staple entry in southeastern Minnesota lost-treasure guidebooks.
Historical Notes
Compiled Minnesota treasure lore credits the Barker gang with concealing a six-figure hoard along the Rochester–Chatfield corridor. The tale sits alongside depression-era wealth caches reportedly buried near Rochester, some of which local stories claim were later found. Fillmore and Olmsted counties share the Driftless bluff country where gangster and farm-cache legends overlap.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
