Belle Starr Robber's Cave Outlaw Loot

Lost Treasure OK • Latimer County County
Description
Latimer County legend that Belle Starr buried outlaw loot in or near Robber's Cave after marrying Sam Starr at Younger's Bend — distinct from the Jesse James cache tales at the same sandstone hideout.
Historical Notes
Belle Shirley Reed married Tom Starr's son Sam in a Cherokee ceremony in 1880 and hosted visitors including Jesse James, introduced to Sam as "Mr. Williams from Texas." County compilations credit Belle with concealing plunder near Robber's Cave north of Wilburton. True West and regional guides also tie Belle's gang to Wichita Mountains iron-door train-robbery lore — separate from this cave cache tradition.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
