Historical Notes
The Rocker Box Hudspeth County compilation describes a large cache of gold buried near Sierra Blanca. Sierra Blanca is the Hudspeth County seat on Interstate 10 where the Military Road crossed the Sacramento Mountains divide. Hudspeth County was organized in 1917 from El Paso County. Outlaw and freight-cache folklore fills guidebooks along the mesa country between El Paso and the Pecos River crossings. Coordinates mark Sierra Blanca in Hudspeth County east of El Paso.
