Landa Park Aquatic Complex — Comal River

Water Locations TX • Comal County County
Coordinates: 29.7042, -98.1258
Elevation: 0 ft
Description
Spring-fed swimming pool in New Braunfels Landa Park on the headwaters of the Comal River — largest springs in Texas feed the shortest river in America.
Historical Notes
The Landa Park Aquatic Complex sits on the Comal Springs headwaters in New Braunfels, where seven major springs and dozens of smaller seeps discharge along a limestone bluff. The Comal River runs just over two miles at constant 72°F before meeting the Guadalupe. Landa Park has drawn swimmers since the 1890s resort era. The city aquatic complex offers a large spring-fed pool; river swimming is restricted in portions of Landa Lake to protect the endangered fountain darter. Nearby Hinman Island, Prince Solms Park, and Landa Falls provide additional Comal River bank access. Coordinates mark the Landa Park Aquatic Complex on the Comal River in New Braunfels.
