Water Locations TX • Comal County County
Coordinates: 29.6984, -98.1289
Elevation: 0 ft
Description
Popular Comal River gathering spot below the Faust Street bridge in New Braunfels — long-used free swimming and wading reach on spring-fed water.
Historical Notes
Below the Faust Street bridge, the Comal River widens into a favorite local swimming and cliff-jumping reach that has drawn New Braunfels visitors for generations. The Edwards Aquifer site notes this stretch was historically a popular free swimming spot before the city limited access near the old Dittlinger Mill structure for safety. Water remains spring-fed and clear upstream of the Guadalupe confluence. Check City of New Braunfels for current access rules, parking, and any seasonal restrictions. Coordinates mark the Faust Street bridge crossing on the Comal River.
