Historical Notes
Las Moras Springs at Fort Clark powered one of the largest spring flows in Southwest Texas and supplied the cavalry post that guarded the border after the Mexican War. TPWD Magazine names Las Moras Springs among Texas swimming holes outside the Hill Country core. The spring pool and creek reach remain a Kinney County landmark. Access may be tied to Fort Clark / Brackettville community amenities — inquire locally before visiting.
