Bandera Cypress Rope Swing — Medina River

Water Locations TX • Bandera County County
Coordinates: 29.7265, -99.0742
Elevation: 0 ft
Description
Bald cypress rope swing across the Medina River from Bandera City Park — platform high in the branches over deep water.
Historical Notes
Texas Highways describes scaling boards nailed to a huge bald cypress on the north bank of the Medina River opposite Bandera City Park, then launching from a platform high over the pool below. The swing sits technically outside city park boundaries but is part of the Bandera swimming tradition alongside the Cowboy Capital's weekend river crowds. Bandera City Park offers picnic tables, grills, and wading on the south bank; weekend entry fees apply March through October.
