Historical Notes
Austin , Travis County, near Lady Bird Lake. Historic spring-fed municipal pool and the oldest swimming pool in Texas, built in 1915. Features lap lanes, beach entry, wading area, and grassy hillside for lounging. Water is untreated and refilled daily from a natural spring (65–75°F). No lifeguards. Amenities: Restrooms, showers, grassy banks. Family friendly. Entry: $5 adults, $3 teens, $2 kids/seniors (non-residents: $9/$5/$4). Open daily, 8a–8p (lap swim), 10a–8p (recreational). Closed 1st Tue Listed in Cofran's Texas Hill Country Portal — Swimming Holes. Water depth and access vary with drought and flood conditions; most sites have no lifeguards.
