Southwest Louisiana from Galveston to New Orleans is dense with tales of loot in creeks, bayous, and swamps. Norman Richardson's Where the Gold is—Maybe documents a pirate cache discovered in present-day Beauregard Parish and Spanish gold near Opelousas.
