Uintah Basin Montezuma Migration Cache — Uintah County

Lost Treasure UT • Uintah County County
Description
Uintah Basin legend extending Kanab's Montezuma hoard folklore to Blind Frog Ranch — where media speculation claims Aztec refugees may have cached imperial gold in Uintah cave systems.
Historical Notes
KSL and Visit Southern Utah document centuries of Montezuma treasure hunts at Kanab's Three Lakes pond; Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch later speculated the Uintah Basin ranch could connect to the same Aztec migration narrative. Folklore holds Aztec warriors fled Cortés north with imperial gold; Blind Frog excavations reinterpret that tradition for northeastern Utah caverns without archaeological confirmation. Coordinates approximate Blind Frog Ranch in the Uintah Basin near Vernal. Distinct from Kanab's Montezuma Treasure — Three Lakes Pond statewide entry.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
