Thompson Lost Ledge Big Horn Mountains — Big Horn County

Lost Treasure MT • Big Horn County County
Description
Big Horn Mountains legend of Thompson's Lost Ledge — a named lost-mine treasure in Montana–Wyoming guides south of Billings in the cloud-capped range dividing the Yellowstone and Bighorn basins.
Historical Notes
The Rocker Box Big Horn County compilation places Thompson's Lost Ledge somewhere in the Big Horn Mountains, published in Guide to Treasure in Montana-Wyoming alongside the Little Bighorn river caches. The Bighorn Range rises south and east of Billings; lost-ledge folklore parallels Wyoming's Boot Map and Lost Cabin mine traditions in the same uplift. Coordinates mark central Big Horn Mountains approach from the Billings side. Wilderness and forest lands — legend only.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
