Description
Oldest documented church organization in Mason; Lutheran congregation founded February 15, 1872, with a building that served as church and school.
Historical Notes
Rev. H. Huber organized St. Paul's Lutheran Church in 1872. John Adam Schuessler donated land; the Schuessler family were among the earliest German pioneers of the county. The 1872 building doubled as a schoolhouse — typical of Mason County frontier churches before separate school districts formed.
