Singer Second Cache — Two Oak Trees

Lost Treasure TX • Kenedy County County
Description
Secondary Padre Island legend of John Singer burying an additional cache between two small oak trees on the southern island — separate from the main Money Hill hoard and never recovered.
Historical Notes
Legends of America notes oral tradition that Singer hid more than one deposit before fleeing Civil War occupation — a second stash marked by twin oaks. Live oaks are scarce on the barrier island; if the marker ever existed, dune migration and hurricanes may have removed or buried the trees. Coordinates place the tale on south Padre Island near the southernmost habitable dune country above Brazos Santiago Pass.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
