The Rocker Box Howard County compilation describes three large gold crosses supposedly buried on Signal Peak. Big Spring is the Howard County seat where Signal Peak rises on the Caprock escarpment. Mission-style gold-cross cache tales appear in several West Texas counties. Howard County developed around Big Spring's natural spring and the Texas and Pacific Railway. Coordinates approximate Signal Peak in Howard County east of Midland.
