Historical Notes
Shelton Hollow lies in the western Hays County hills between Wimberley and Driftwood. The Rocker Box Hays County compilation describes a lost ledge of silver in the hollow. Central Texas treasure guides often conflate lost silver mines with buried outlaw loot in the limestone country along the Blanco and San Marcos rivers. No documented commercial silver production is recorded for Shelton Hollow. Coordinates approximate Shelton Hollow in western Hays County. Private ranch land throughout the area.
