Historical Notes
Legends of America lists bars of gold said to be hidden in the San Francisco Mountains of Coconino County. The peaks include Humphreys Peak (12,633 ft), sacred to many Southwest tribes. The area is largely Coconino National Forest and wilderness. No verified cache has been documented.
