Sam Bass Buried Loot — Schnault Springs

Lost Treasure TX • Dallas County County
Description
Legend of Sam Bass Gang robbery loot buried near Schnault Springs south of Dallas — cited in Dallas County lost-treasure compilations.
Historical Notes
Regional treasure guides list Schnault Springs (also spelled Schnaupt in some accounts) as a third Sam Bass cache location outside Dallas. The spring name appears in compiled lost-treasure books but is difficult to pinpoint on modern maps. The story fits the pattern of Bass hiding portions of his take between North Texas train jobs in 1878. His main confirmed robberies in the Dallas area include Mesquite, Hutchins, and Eagle Ford. Coordinates approximate the southern Dallas County countryside. Exact spring location unverified; likely private land.
