Hartford County legend of two and a half million dollars in stolen Continental gold buried along the Salmon River — a Revolutionary-era payroll hoard in the Granby highlands.
Historical Notes
The Salmon River flows through East Hartland and Granby in northwestern Hartford County. Compiled guides describe stolen Continental Army gold concealed somewhere along the river. The tradition complements Windsor pirate gold and East Granby Washington Dollar lore on the same watershed.
