Rye Flats Minted Gold Coins Cave

Lost Treasure ID • Boise County County
Description
Boise County border legend of $40,000 in newly minted gold coins hidden in a metal box inside an above-ground cave near Rye Flats close to the Nevada line — stolen and never reclaimed.
Historical Notes
Bandits reportedly cached wrapped mint coins worth $40,000 at the time in a cave near Rye Flats on the southern Boise County/Nevada approach. The thieves never returned; treasure compilations treat the site as one of southwestern Idaho's persistent coin-hoard mysteries. Coordinates approximate Rye Flats near the state line west of the main Boise Basin diggings.
