Historical Notes
Rosenberg developed where the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway crossed the Buffalo Bayou, Brazos and Colorado Railway, making it a major Fort Bend County shipping point for cotton and cattle. Rail-town treasure tales describe unrecovered safes near depots and warehouses when bandits struck section crews. Rosenberg's historic downtown preserves early twentieth-century commercial buildings along the tracks. Coordinates mark downtown Rosenberg in western Fort Bend County.
