Rocky Hill Stage Road $400,000 Cache

Lost Treasure MT • Beaverhead County County
Description
North-of-Bannack legend of about $400,000 in road-agent gold hidden along the old Rocky Hill Stage Road — a companion story to Plummer gang caches on the vigilante trail.
Historical Notes
Montana treasure writers pair the Rocky Hill Stage Road north of Bannack with the larger Plummer buried-loot tradition along the Virginia City freight corridor. The figure appears in Road Agents Rock folklore as a separate concentration of unrecovered road-agent wealth. No authenticated recovery is documented; the site belongs to 1863–1864 vigilante-era oral history.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
