Cherokee County legend of Robin Bobb burying a large pot of gold coins in the mountains ten miles east of Tahlequah before dying without revealing the location.
Historical Notes
Cherokee Nation treasure guides place Robin Bobb's pot of gold in the hills east of Tahlequah. Bobb died carrying the secret to his grave — a common Ozark–Cherokee foothill motif in Steve Wilson's compilations. Cherokee County also holds Horse Shoe Bend Illinois River cave treasures and Billy Stinnett chimney caches in the same folklore cluster.
