Richmond Civil War Yard Money Cache

Lost Treasure KY • Madison County County
Description
Richmond legend of a man burying a money cache in his yard before being killed in the Civil War — never found in Madison County.
Historical Notes
Richmond is the Madison County seat in the Bluegrass east of Lexington. Compiled Civil War guides describe a resident concealing money in his yard before dying in the war without recovering it. The cache complements Lexington war hoard lore and Winchester stolen-valuables traditions.
