Reno Gang Rockford Train Loot

Lost Treasure IN • Jackson County County
Description
Rockford legend of $98,000 from another Reno brothers train robbery hidden between Rockford and Seymour along State Road 31A — never recovered after the 1868 vigilante hangings.
Historical Notes
Wilkinson Reno's 1,200-acre Rockford farm was the gang's headquarters north of Seymour. Indiana Traveler places a separate $98,000 hoard from a second train robbery along the Rockford–Seymour corridor. The May 1868 Marshfield Adams Express job netted roughly $96,000 — treasure guides debate whether the Rockford cache is the same loot or a distinct burial.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
