Randall Davey Morris Farm Hoard

Lost Treasure KS • Jewell County County
Description
Jewell County legend of miserly farmer Davey Morris hiding decades of cash hoards across his farm three miles south of Randall — with outdoor caches still unfound after his 1910 death.
Historical Notes
Davey Morris died in 1910 on his farm south of Randall in Jewell County. The frugal bachelor sold produce for cash over thirty years and stashed it in cabin hideaways. Searchers found sums inside the cabin after his death, but folklore holds additional caches buried around the property were never located. Miser-farmer hoard tales are common across the Great Plains; Morris is among the best-known Kansas examples.
