Historical Notes
Pyramid Creek lies on the Llano South USGS topo sheet between Packsaddle Mountain and the Riley Mountains / Oxford reach of the Llano Uplift. Nearby streams include Salt Branch, Straight Fork, and Molasses Creek on the Cap Mountain quad. Fine placer gold from Precambrian bedrock concentrates in creek gravels after floods. The drainage sits in the same mineral district as Packsaddle ridge prospects and Honey Creek Los Almagres traditions. Private ranch land east and northeast of Packsaddle Mountain. Obtain landowner permission.
