Pogue's Station Adobe Gold — White Pine County

Lost Treasure NV • White Pine County County
Description
White Pine County legend of stationmaster Jim Pogue hiding a fortune in gold coins near his Adobe Stage Station on the Palisade–Pioche freight route — searched to destruction after his 1915 death.
Historical Notes
Pogue's Station southeast of Eureka was the only water for miles along Pritchard's Fast Freight Route in the 1870s–1880s. Jim Pogue lived at the site until 1915; rumors of buried coins brought treasure hunters who demolished the station and outbuildings. Though the ground was torn apart, Legends of America notes the legend persists along SR 20 south of US 50.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
