Pirate John Quelch Star Island Treasure

Lost Treasure NH • Rockingham County County
Description
Isles of Shoals legend of pirate John Quelch burying about nine pounds of gold and one hundred ninety pounds of silver on Star Island — a late-seventeenth-century Atlantic pirate cache.
Historical Notes
Captain John Quelch operated in the Caribbean and North Atlantic before his 1704 execution in Boston. Compiled guides place his hoard on Star Island or the west side of nearby Appledore in the Isles of Shoals. The tale pairs with King Edward wreck coins and Blackbeard Smuttynose lore in Rockingham County seacoast compilations.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
