Description
Victorian brick school built 1888 for East Austin; converted to Palm Park after school closure.
Historical Notes
Named for Swante Palm, Swedish consul and Austin bibliophile. The two-story brick school at 710 E 1st Street served immigrant neighborhoods near the river. Building survives as Palm Park community center; Recorded Texas Historic Landmark.
