Pahranagat Valley Zinc Jar Coins

Lost Treasure NV • Lincoln County County
Description
Lincoln County legend of $50,000 in gold coins buried in zinc-capped jars about ten miles south of Hiko under an old oak grove in 1867 by a passing camper.
Historical Notes
The Pahranagat Valley along Nevada's eastern edge attracted travelers between Utah, Arizona, and the Colorado River. Legends of America describes a camper who cached coin-filled jars near Hiko in 1867 and never returned for them. The remote valley remains a staple of southern Nevada cache-hunting stories.
