Ozona Outlaw John Flint Buried Loot — Crockett County

Lost Treasure TX • Crockett County County
Description
Crockett County legend of outlaw John Flint's buried loot near Ozona — the Sutton County rail neighbor west on the San Antonio–El Paso road.
Historical Notes
The Rocker Box Crockett County compilation states that outlaw John Flint supposedly buried some loot near Ozona. Ozona became the Crockett County seat when the county organized in 1891 and anchors the westbound mesa country toward Fort Stockton. Texas Highway 163 from Comstock to Ozona follows sections of the nineteenth-century Military Road up the Devils River valley. Outlaw caches appear throughout guidebooks along the same corridor. Coordinates mark downtown Ozona in Crockett County west of Sonora.
