Osage Hills Outlaw Loot Caches

Lost Treasure OK • Osage County County
Description
Pawhuska area legend of multiple outlaw loot caches buried in the Osage Hills — including $100,000 in gold south of Artillery Mound and Henry Starr's hideout era deposits.
Historical Notes
When Oklahoma statehood threatened extradition in 1907, Henry Starr and partners hid in the Osage Hills and resumed bank robberies across the territory. Osage County compilations list several stolen hoards near Pawhuska, Barnsdall, and Artillery Mound. Starr claimed early gang loot was hidden "near the border in a place nobody could find" — keeping Osage Hills searches active in regional outlaw lore.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
