Oklahoma Outlaw Stash — Oklahoma County

Lost Treasure OK • Oklahoma County County
Description
Oklahoma City area legend of forty jack-loads of gold buried along the east branch of Lost Creek — a territorial-era hoard from Jameson's Oklahoma chapter.
Historical Notes
Before statehood urban sprawl covered the creek bottoms east of Oklahoma City, territorial folklore placed an enormous outlaw hoard — forty jack loads of gold — along the east branch of Lost Creek. Steve Wilson's Oklahoma Treasures and Treasure Tales and The Rocker Box Oklahoma County list preserve the story for modern metal-detector clubs. The scale of the claim places it among the boldest Oklahoma Territory legends. Coordinates approximate Lost Creek bottomlands east of the capital in Oklahoma County.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
