The Rocker Box Nueces County page lists $16,000 in gold supposedly buried near Rock Crossing on the Nueces River. The Nueces River forms part of Jim Wells County's northern drainage before reaching Lake Corpus Christi and the Gulf. River-crossing payroll and outlaw caches appear throughout Guide to Treasure in Texas along the Nueces, Frio, and Rio Grande corridors. No authenticated recovery is documented at Rock Crossing. Coordinates approximate a Nueces River crossing north of Alice in the Jim Wells County ranch country.
