Historical Notes
The Rocker Box Zavala County compilation describes a cache of unknown worth buried in northwestern Zavala County. Zavala County lies on the Edwards Plateau margin west of Uvalde, where ranching and irrigated farming developed along the Nueces and Leona drainages. Open-range cache tales appear throughout South Texas guidebooks. No authenticated recovery is documented for the northwestern Zavala site.
