Gold is found along much of the length of the North Fork of the Snoqualmi River. Half mile up Illinois creek in sections 8 and 9 T25N R10E, is the Beaverdale Mine. East of there on a dirt road to the Taylor River district, in section 16 T24N R10E, is the Rainy Mine. Near Snoqualmi Pass, on the South fork of the Snoqualmi River, in sections 7 and 8 T22N R11E, is the Carmack Mine. It consisted of 5 claims that produced gold, copper, lead and silver.
