Mission San Francisco Xavier de Nájara Treasure Legend

Lost Treasure TX • Bexar County County
Description
Brief San Antonio mission legend of church goods from San Francisco Xavier de Nájara (1722–1726) merged into the Alamo after only four years of operation.
Historical Notes
San Francisco Xavier de Nájara was established in 1722 a few miles upriver from San Antonio de Valero. It lasted only four years before merging with the Alamo mission in 1726. Though short-lived, Nájara had granaries and a resident Indian community. Folklore imagines property concealed when the mission was absorbed — a minor variant in San Antonio mission treasure tradition. Coordinates approximate the upriver site near San Pedro Creek in San Antonio.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
