Midland Comanche War Trail Cache — Midland County

Lost Treasure TX • Midland County County
Description
Midland County legend of outlaw or Comanche-trade loot buried along the historic war trail crossing the High Plains between the Concho country and the Pecos.
Historical Notes
Midland County sits on the Llano Estacado where the Comanche War Trail and later cattle trails crossed the divide between the Concho River drainages and the Pecos. Frontier freight and raiding parties often figure in regional cache folklore. Castle Gap treasure traditions lie west in Upton County (see separate database entries). Midland-area tales more commonly describe trail-side strongboxes on the eastern Permian shelf. Coordinates approximate the northern Midland County plains east of Midland.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
