Description
Natchez Trace outlaw lore placing part of Samuel Mason's unrecovered river-pirate loot on Stack Island in the Mississippi River.
Historical Notes
Samuel Mason transitioned from Ohio River piracy at Cave-in-Rock to highway robbery on the Natchez Trace after 1799. Thousands of dollars in currency and valuables were never recovered from his gang.
