Description
Small 1876 limestone chapel built for German Methodist congregation; moved to Laguna Gloria Art Museum grounds in 1936.
Historical Notes
Originally the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church (or German Methodist per some sources) near Congress Avenue. Clara Driscoll and the Texas Fine Arts Association relocated the chapel to Laguna Gloria in 1936. One of Austin's oldest surviving church buildings; preserved as an art-museum landmark on the Colorado River bluff.
