Historical Notes
Luckenbach is a small Gillespie County community south of Fredericksburg on Ranch Road 1376, famous for its dance hall and country-music heritage. The town sits in the Pedernales River hill country between Fredericksburg and Sisterdale. Hill Country outlaw-strongbox tales cluster at remote crossings and dance-hall communities where cattle commerce moved cash before rural banking reached the German settlements. No authenticated hoard has been documented at Luckenbach. Coordinates mark Luckenbach in southern Gillespie County.
