Lost Doukhober Mine — Stevens County

Lost Treasure WA • Stevens County County
Description
Northeast Washington legend of the Lost Doukhober Mine discovered in 1929 in northern Stevens County — ore assayed at one thousand ounces of silver per ton before the location was lost.
Historical Notes
The Doukhober discovery tale names extraordinary silver values from a 1929 find in northern Stevens County. As with many ledge legends, the discoverer could not return to the exact outcrop amid rugged northeast Washington terrain. Legends of America groups it with Robbers' Roost and Colville highgrader caches in Stevens County.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
