Lost Creek Forty Jack Loads Gold

Lost Treasure OK • Oklahoma County County
Description
Oklahoma City area legend of forty jack loads of gold buried five miles from downtown along the east branch of Lost Creek — a staple entry in Oklahoma County treasure compilations.
Historical Notes
Oklahoma County guides place the enormous jack-train hoard along the east branch of Lost Creek east of the growing capital city. The tale belongs to early Oklahoma Territory folklore before statehood urban sprawl covered the creek bottoms. Steve Wilson's Oklahoma Treasures and Treasure Tales and Rocker Box county lists preserve the story for modern metal-detector clubs.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
