Llano River — Maso-Llan Road Access

Historic Park TX • Mason County County
Description
TPWD leased public fishing and paddling access on the Llano River north bank near Art; about 350 feet of frontage on the Mason County reach between Highway 87 and Castell.
Historical Notes
The Llano River has been the central corridor of Mason County life since Lipan Apache and Comanche hunting camps lined its banks. Anglo ranchers and German settlers built towns along the river from Hedwigs Hill to Mason. Texas Parks & Wildlife leases this Maso-Llan Road site for bank fishing and non-motorized boat launch. The reach lies approximately 5.8 river miles downstream of the Highway 87 bridge at Mason.
