Last Chance Gulch Hidden Paystreak — Helena

Lost Treasure MT • Lewis and Clark County County
Description
Helena legend tying Charlie Keyes and John Lepley to walking over Last Chance Gulch before its 1864 bonanza — treasure writers claim undiscovered pockets remain in the gulch that built Montana's capital.
Historical Notes
Keyes and Lepley prospected Silver Creek without luck, then separated before Keyes headed to the Missouri; legends say they crossed the future Last Chance Gulch strike. Last Chance Gulch produced millions in placer gold after the "Four Georgians" discovery of 1864. Coordinates mark downtown Helena's gulch — symbolic center of the Keyes "missed fortune" tale and ongoing placer folklore.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
