La Galga Assateague Shipwreck Treasure

Description
Assateague Island legend of the treasure ship La Galga sinking offshore with a large cargo of gold and silver coins — a documented colonial wreck hoard.
Historical Notes
The Spanish frigate La Galga wrecked near Assateague Island in 1750 with a valuable coin cargo. Compiled Atlantic Coast guides describe substantial gold and silver never fully salvaged from the shoals. The wreck pairs with pirate Wilson's ten chests in Worcester County barrier-island folklore.
