Historical Notes
The Rocker Box Kleberg County compilation states that a pirate treasure is said to be buried on Point of Rocks. Kleberg County lies east of Jim Wells County; Kingsville and the King Ranch country form the coastal ranch corridor between Alice and Corpus Christi. Point of Rocks and Baffin Bay shoreline tales overlap with Padre Island shipwreck folklore documented in separate entries for the Gulf coast. No authenticated pirate hoard has been recovered at Point of Rocks. Coordinates mark Kingsville in Kleberg County southeast of Alice.
