Kings River Confederate Silver — Carroll County

Lost Treasure AR • Carroll County County
Description
Kings River valley legend of Confederate silver and church plate buried before Union occupation of northwest Arkansas — caves and spring branches near Eureka Springs and Berryville.
Historical Notes
Northwest Arkansas saw divided loyalties and frequent skirmishes; local churches and wealthy families reportedly hid valuables when armies approached. Kings River tributaries near Carroll County became a recurring setting for "Confederate silver" stories distinct from the White River outlaw cave legend farther south. No authenticated recovery is documented; the tale belongs to the same 1862–1865 cache folklore cluster as Cross Hollows and Pea Ridge.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
