Description
Adams County legend of frontiersman Joseph Walker burying multiple gold caches in iron kettles — one kettle was reportedly found, leaving additional hoards still sought in southern Ohio hill country.
Historical Notes
Joseph Walker settled in Adams County and reportedly amassed gold through frontier trade and land dealings. Folklore says he buried several kettles of coins and bullion; at least one kettle discovery is cited in compiled Ohio guides. Treasure hunters continue searching the Manchester and Ohio River hill country for Walker's remaining caches.
